Your Vote Counts

One of the biggest days of my life is fast approaching.

Back story: I've ALWAYS had long hair. not crazy loony long, but pretty long. i've always LOVED my hair too, and gotten a good amount of attention for it as well. But over the last, oh, six months it has become the THORN IN MY SIDE. I won't trouble you with the details. suffice it to say it's time for a change.

and so, change i shall have. my appointment is set for this coming Sunday. I want drastic. I've never had short hair, and i figure it's about time to try it.

here's where you come in: please help me select what to do with this mop.

This is basically my face.

This is basically what my hair looks like now, although i wear it curly and straight, equally.

Here are things i like:

i realize they're all fairly similar, but how many different things can you really do with hair ultimately? so, please tell me which you prefer....or what you think would look best. Deadline=Sunday.

I definately think you'd look good with choice #1. And then, when it was curly it'd probably look a lot like #3. You're too good to copy a Jennifer Aniston haircut (#2). That's so 1996. I look like #4 when I wake up. Yeah right!
In summary, I vote for #1.

i agree. also, the michelle pheifer picture is impossible. she has had so much processing that it would never be realistic in the real world. you can only have that hair if you have a hair staff. not YOU you, you in general.

REALISM SUCKS!

I vote for number 4.

I do agree that the curl may not be that great, but I like the length of that one best. The curl may turn out like Jen in pic 2, but longer.

I LIKE NUMBER 4.

That is hard Breanna.

I am also in a rut. My hair is getting really long but I am afraid to cut it.

I am with everyone else here though the Michelle Pheifer (Sp) is the best one.

Wait the bleach from cleaning the floor went to my head. I like the Michelle look. The Jennifer Anniston one looks too short.

ryan, i totally remember your hair!!! i have some wild pictures of you lookin' like the j man! if only i had a scanner i could post them!!

breanna, do #4 you'll be happiest.

Ryan, you are so sweet!

yah, go figure, after six months of AWFUL hair and deciding to take the plunge to cut it off for the first time, i have a GREAT HAIR DAY...what kind of cruel trick is this? so now i'm having doubts. but i'm pretty sure i should just forge ahead.

i'll take the michelle pic with me to the salon.

and then to the saloon, if things don't go well...

ha ha ha! just be prepared to spend time with the hot rollers or a big fat curling iron every day... i've got a GREAT product for you if you go with michelle... back from my curly days....

and washing food out of it after you eat.

Mandi thinks you should copy the Einstein do to the right.

I think Michelle's length is great (and if you just full on curled it, you would look fabulous that way too).

Call me when it's done!!! I don't want to call you cell and interrupt..... CALL ME!

I know you don't know me very well, but I've heard enough about you from my crazy husband Ry to give you a good opinion on your hair style. I like number 3 and then you could go to number 1 if you straighten your hair. But, you can hit me up on my web site in order to get to know the crazy woman that Ryan married.

well, today was the big day, and now it's all done.

thanks for your votes, they really did matter to me.

so i hope you won't take it personally that i ended up with hair that is basically nothing like any of the pics (although i haven't seen it curly yet.) i guess it's closest to the Jennifer Aniston one, only SHORTER (if you can even imagine).

my hair stylist was the coolest in the world, so fun and supportive and attentive. It's definately dramatic, VERY short (not like a pixie or anything) and i think i'll end up being really happy.

it was really a freeing feeling to have all that hair cut off, almost therapeutic. anyways, i'll see what i can do about getting a picture or two for you all to see.

(RM-can you help me with this?)

thanks again for your help!

and i got a digital camera for my birthday if you want me to take a pic of you so you can post it on the blog . . .

You'd better post it . . . 'cause if you don't . . .

Really I got nothing - there is no threat I could possibly follow through on. Just let us Portlanders-in-exile share in the joy.

tabitha jane said...

oh, it so sad to think of you in exile!!! come back! it was so good to see you!

James T Wood said...

It really does feel like a self-imposed exile sometimes. My school means that we can't leave for at least a couple years.

It was great to see everyone in Portland, but it just reminded us of how much we miss you all.

*sigh*

bscarter said...

Yeah, I miss Portland too.
