I'm currently addicted to "A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey. It's about his journey through rehab. He likes the f-word a lot but I'm surprisingly not offended.

I also enjoyed Traveling Mercies by Anne Lamott. You can read my thoughts about the book on my blog, I did a whole post on the book and my reflections.

Favorite Sicky books:
A Walk to Remember - Nicholas Sparks
Jemima J - I know you love this one too ;)

When I'm sick - I like books I don't have to think too much to get through.

As for silly superstition. I don't know why, there's no real reason...but I can't fall asleep unless I'm facing a wall.

You said no sci fi OR romance novels but you failed to say no sci fi romance novels. See the distinction? hahahaha

My favorite book from 2005 is The Time Traveler’s Wife. It's about time travel (duh) but it's really overshadowed by the love story of the two main characters and how they try to lead normal lives when one of them is always disappearing and reappearing. It's not heavy on techno babble, there are no battle scenes, no lustful chapters of unbridled-what-ever-the-heck it is that those romance novels usually contain. The book is almost written for those readers who don't like sci fi or romance stories.

It was a beautiful book and it totally caught me off guard. I stayed up all night to finish it the day I bought it home.

My favorite joke lately:

A little girl brings her toothbrush to her father one morning and asks if it’s still safe to use it.

“Sure, honey. Why wouldn’t it be safe?” He looks puzzled

The little girl replies “It fell in the toilet this morning.”

“Oh dear!” says the father. “You should throw it away at once and we’ll go get you a new one!.”

The little girl goes to the bathroom and returns with her father’s toothbrush in her other hand. “We’d better throw this one away too. It fell in the toilet last week!”

Worst gift ever--wedding present. Simple silver tray, just didn't need it. Went to return it it was $1. Yes $1. It seems the person that bought it spent $300 and got a silver tray (small thing) for $1. Which is what I got as the ENTIRE wedding gift...the ONE DOLLAR tray! Tray is also an overstated word.

Books - The Nazi Officer's Wife.
The Girl in the Picture. My Sister's Keeper.

Feel Better.

another good sci-fi book that doesn't count as sci-fi is the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy series. they will make you laugh your ass off!

good joke:
how do you get pikachu on a train?

you poke him on! (pokemon . . . get it?)

Q - How does Snoop Dogg keep all of his whites so white?

A - BLEEE-ACH.

(sounds like biyatch)

Anyway....

I love all of the Anne of Green Gables/Avonlea books. Quality reading.

Also, I'm in the middle of Angels and Demons, which is the book that precedes DaVinci Code. It's awesome.

Hope you feel better.

Hope you feel better soon.

I read The Bourne Identity/Supremacy/Ultimatum, and they are great books if you like spy thriller stuff.
